Another mushroom lamp! Viscid violet corts
I should have some good updates for you all soon, art is coming along slowly, but surely!
I got distracted from painting by making mushroom lamps! They glow in the dark too! So happy with how they turned out. The shelf mushrooms are late fall oysters, and the green topped ones are pretty phaeocollybia.
Colored pencils in the window, finally got to painting and messing with acrylics. More to show soon, that one is still in progress.
After being very burnt out for a while and focusing on craft projects and objects instead of art, I’m cleaning, reorganizing, and making my art studio a slightly different place to work. Next up, sketching and photographing models for reference. Then painting. Sweet painting.
For other artists out there who get burned out also, I recommend not beating yourself up about it, letting it rest, and coming back to art later, when you are feeling inspired again. But of course, not everyone works the same way I do.
“Say that again to our face”
This is based on a photograph of me when I was 5 years old. Often I think that it would be amazing, it may give me some peace, if my parents would look me in the face and apologize for all the abuse.
The trees are cut, ready to be chopped, burned, used. The child has no face anymore, is an object ready to be used. They are one in the same, no ability to fight back or get away.
And yet not without the ability to condemn and destroy.
